Last Week of Swimming!   Champs information!
We are coming up to our last week of swimming in preparation for Champs. If you haven't experienced Champs yet, it is...well, an experience :-)
Champs will be held at Bear River High School. Each team will have a designated area to hang out. There is a new staging area this year so please review the area layout to get a sense of where to be during Champs. Please review the Champs Volunteer roster and please sign up if you haven't already volunteered. Also, we will be having our Annual Awards and Desserts Party on August 2nd. See awards and desserts flyer.pdf flyer for details. For the last 9 weeks our 4 coaches have been at the pool working with our kids 6 days a week. Every year we like to offer them a bonus for all their hard work. We are collecting money right now for our Sunday night Awards and Desserts Party. If you will be at practice this week you can bring me cash or a check. If your swim season is over you can still contribute. Make your check payable to "Water Otters" and mail it to 12880 Lake Wildwood Dr. Thank You so much for your support. Great Job Water Otters!!! Another victory for the "little team that could"... We are 3-0! Results are posted on the Times/Results page... I want to thank everyone for making the trek down the hill to ARC for our away meet this pat Saturday. I was really impressed with all the adult relay team swimmers... The water was churnin! Swim team photos will be distributed mid-week next week (Jul 14~15), before the LOP meet.

ARC Swim meet info Hello Water Otter Parents, I hope everyone had a fun Fourth of July and you are all ready to get back in the swim of things. We swim at the Auburn Racquet club this Saturday, July 10th. Check in is 7:15 to 7:45am. I know it is early, but we need time to make substitutions for relay teams if someone doesn't show up. The Sharks needs to print out all of the timer sheets, meet programs for stagers, starters and coaches. Warm ups for our team are at 8:30am. I have included a link to the Sierra Foothills Swim League's website which has directions to all of the pools, as well as the directions to ARC included in this e-mail.

Another Great job!!! Congrats, Water Otters! Thanks again to all the parents, volunteers, and coaches for making the LWW vs.FH swim meet so successful and fun for the swimmers! As Jennifer has probably mentioned to you, we are done with home meets but still need volunteers for our remaing away meets. (See FYI-26jun09). For those interested in results from our meets, please direct your attention to the Water Otters - Top Times/Results page. Awesome first meet! Swimmers did outstanding in our first home meet of the year! We will have the results posted soon.. If you have any pictures you would like posted on our site, please go to Upload Media and you can do so there... Speaking of picutures... Ice Cream Social on June 24th... Water Otterrs & Families- We are gearing up for another season and are going to start tryouts/registration soon. If you would like to download a registration form for the 09 season, click here. Also, hot off the press is the latest edition of our schedule which can be downloaded here. We are all looking forward to another summer of swimming and fun. Hopefully, no smoke!!! Here are some updates: Dennis Umanzio has volunteered to run the snack bar this year. Lulu will get him started, Thank You both! Casey McCormick has volunteered to help Denise with T-shirt sales. Thank you! Lori has scheduled the swimsuit sale for June 8th 5:30 to 7:30, prices to be announced soon. Ryan Stefani will not return as head coach, he will be staying in Santa Barbara for summer school. Molly Nolan, our very capable assistant coach from last year will be head coach. I want to thank Molly for her enthusiasm and ambition. She will be great, please show her your support. Assistant coach will be Tyler Ashbaugh, I think he will be great with the kids, also. Sunday June 7 The league is having it's Stroke and turn judges training, I need a minimum of 2 people to go for the training.
